Our Beginnings
Three generations
Three generations

J ohn H. Almlie came to Tracy, Minnesota in June of 1965 to work with the Kelleys in the Kelley Funeral Home. In February of 1971, John purchased the funeral home from the Kelley's. The business became known as the Almlie Funeral Home. In 1981, John bought the old roller skating rink in Balaton, Minnesota and that became our second funeral home. In 1988, Steven J. Almlie joined the business and a new funeral home in Tracy was built on Highway 14 in 1990. In 1995, Steve bought the business from his father and also built Almlie Funeral Home in Westbrook, Minnesota. In 2006, Seneca Almlie, the ninth member of the Almlie family to graduate from the U Of M Medical Schools Mortuary Science Department, joined the family business making Almlie Funeral Homes a three generation family owned and operated business.
